Silver bells akebia is a fast-growing vine that can quickly cover a fence or wall. It produces profuse amounts of attractive, light pink, fragrant flowers and abundant, silver-blue fruit. Native to Japan and China, Akebia can bear unique and unusual, light blue 4″-6″ long, edible fruits. When ripe, it splits open to reveal a row of black seeds in clear sweet pulp. For fruit, plant 2 varieties for cross-pollination.
