Dwarf Korean Lilac is a popular shrub with many prized attributes. In the spring it forms fragrant panicles of lilac purple flowers which are excellent for cutting and for attracting butterflies. Foliage is green and will not develop any prized fall colour.

Effective as a specimen or massed or shrub borders, Dwarf Korean lilacs also make for a  good screen or informal hedge for property lines. This lilac is generally more attractive than many other species of lilacs due to its structure, floriferous bloom and mildew-resistant foliage. Since it will fill out right to the ground, it will not necessarily need plants in front.

This is a relatively low maintenance shrub. If pruning is necessary, it should only be done immediately after flowering before they form buds for next years' flowers. While they are highly adaptable to both dry and moist conditions, as well as urban pollution and a variety of soil types or pH lilacs do require full sunlight to thrive and should only be grown in locations where this requirement is met.
